License Exams Administered Before Each Meeting Print E-mail

The Evanston Amateur Radio Community now administers amateur radio license examinations prior to each meeting, usually on the fourth Monday of each month. To ensure that we utilize our volunteer examiners appropriately, registration is required. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. And examinations begin at 6:45 PM. Alternative Skywarn Spotter Training...And a Whole Lot More Print E-mail

Unable to attend a National Weather Service Spotter talk? You can still be trained. MetEd (http://www.meted.ucar.edu/) is a free collection of resources for the geological community. New content is continuously added, and there's something for everyone...from beginner to expert.

The MetEd Skywarn course consists of two modules. “The Role of the Skywarn Spotter” is approximately one hour long and teaches communications, reporting criteria, safety, and an overview of the national Skywarn program. In “Skywarn Spotter Convective Basics” students learn the proper way to communicate local storm reports to the National Weather Service, personal safety, and how to identify storm hazards.
